VENITA COELHO has been a force in Bollywood for many years. Dividing her life between Mumbai and Goa, her life is devoted to writing and art.

As an author, she is known for her collections of short stories, “The Washer of The Dead”, and “Dungeon Tales”, as well as a non-fiction book, “Soap Writing and Surviving Television”. She is currently writing “The Blockbuster Book – How To Bust Your Creative Blocks and Write That Great Film”, commissioned by Harper Collins India.

Venita, known to friends and fans as VC, has received Story and Screenplay credits for such successful films as “Musafir” and “Stepmom”.

As a television executive, she has served as Head of Fiction with Endemol India, Creative Head with Cinevistaas Pvt. Ltd., Vice President of New Product Development with Sony Entertainment India.

She has written directed and produced numerous shows for Indian television and is and has been a regular columnist for The Herald, Midday, Asian Age, and Indian Express.

Venita has written several plays such as Punchatantra and The Magic Box, as well as writing for Documentaries and Multimedia.
